Northeast Integrative Medicine
Ariel Wachowiak, L.Ac.

Ariel grew up as an athlete in New Hampshire, competing in ice hockey, lacrosse, field hockey and soccer.  Ariel received a Bachelor of Scient degree at the University of Vermont and two Masters of Science degrees in Acupuncture (MSA) and Oriental Medicine (MSAOM) from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine of New York Chiropractic College.  After graduation, she continued her studies at an integrative hospital in Hangzhou, China before opening her own private practice in Western New York.  As a graduate student, Ariel became suddenly ill with a rare, potentially fatal disease known as Guillian Barre Syndrome, resulting in acute ascending paralysis.  As her body weakened, chronic Lyme Disease symptoms emerged.  Due to limited support and understanding from conventional medical care, she received daily treatments of acupuncture and Chinese botanical medicine to combat both illnesses.  Slowly but surely, she regained the strenth to walk.  Now, Ariel can often be found playing and coaching ice hockey or being active outdoors.

Ariel emphasizes addressing the body's constitution, or state of the body before illness, to find the origin of the disease.  She empowers patients to take control of their own healing journey and assists them with practical advice and lifestyle modification guidance.  Ariel published her first book, "From Passive To POWER:  How To Reclaim Your Life & Restore Your Health", which serves as a tool full of lifestyle, diet, and mindset suggestions to promote optical health and well-being.  She is continually inspired by the transformation and healing that she witnesses from her patients.

Ariel has a special interest in supporting individuals with chronic Lyme Disease and other complex medical conditions, auto-immune disorders, digestive dysfunction, trauma, cancer, chronic pain and infertility.
